ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC have retained the services of Christy Fagan after the striker put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal with the club.
The 27-year-old was the subject of interest from SSE Airtricity League champions Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Bray but has opted to commit his future to Pat’s.
Fagan, who moved to Inchicore in 2012, scored 10 Premier Division goals for the Saints last campaign and his decision to stay at Richmond Park is a huge boost for Liam Buckley.

The 2014 PFAI Player of the Year becomes the fourth player to re-sign for Pat’s for the 2017 campaign after Ian Bermingham, Michael Barker and Conan Byrne agreed new deals last week.
Gavin Peers, meanwhile, has signed from Sligo Rovers to bolster Buckley’s defensive resources.
Pat’s endured a disappointing season and it was only the third time in a decade the club failed to finish in the top four of the top-flight of the League of Ireland.
