ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC youngster Chris Forrester has been named the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association Player of the Month for June.
It is the third occasion that Forrester has claimed the accolade, following a number of influential displays for his club over the past month.
The 22-year-old managed four goals in four games, including a brace against Longford.

“I’m thrilled to get the award, it has been a good month for me,” said Forrester.
“At the start of the season I set myself some targets and being more consistent was one of them.
“I’ve been doing a lot of work off the field too and I’m trying to keep improving my game all the time.”
The player acknowledges that it has been a difficult season for Pat’s, with the club currently lying fourth in the table and recently exiting the Europa League.
“As a team we are not where we want to be in the league and getting knocked out of Europe was a disappointment too,” he added.
“But we’re not going to give up on the league though. We know it’s going to be tough to catch Dundalk but we will fight until the end.
“We’re still in the FAI Cup too so we would like to do well in that and try to win it again.”
Shamrock Rovers duo Brandon Miele and Kieran Marty Waters were second and third respectively in the voting for the monthly award.
