THE CHIEFS RAN six tries past the Brumbies in a 48-23 victory that sees them move two points clear at the top of Super Rugby’s New Zealand conference.

Dave Rennie’s team, who are also overall leaders in Super Rugby, have been playing scintillating attacking rugby this season and that theme very much continued in Canberra against Stephen Larkham’s Brumbies.

All Blacks out-half Aaron Cruden, who missed the World Cup through injury, showed all his class in a stunning performance in the Chiefs’ 10 shirt, while the sparkling backline outside him shone again.

20-year-old fullback Damian McKenzie, a certain future All Black, scored his seventh try of the season, while exceptional wing James Lowe bagged a brace.
