Charlie Adam has clearly been taking inspiration from the League of Ireland

The Stoke player is not the only individual to score a wonder goal in the past few days.

YOU’LL ALMOST CERTAINLY have seen, or at least heard about, Charlie Adam’s wonder goal for Stoke against Chelsea at the weekend.

Yet you’re less likely to have come across Brian Nolan’s similarly spectacular strike in Waterford United’s 2-2 draw with Shelbourne…

What’s more, it’s not the only Adam-esque goal on Irish shores of late, with Jimmy Bradley catching Galway goalkeeper Ger Hanley off his line during Cockhill Celtic’s recent 4-2 loss in the EA Sports Cup.

So take a bow, Messrs Adam, Bradley and Nolan in what was clearly a good week for audacious efforts.

And that’s not even counting this superb effort by St Pat’s player Greg Bolger against Derry from 24 March.
