When is the Champions League quarter-final draw?

We’re down to the business end of the European season.

CURRENT TITLEHOLDERS Real Madrid, La Liga leaders Barcelona and 2013 winners Bayern Munich are among those through to the last eight of this year’s tournament

The eagerly-awaited draw for the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League will take place in Switzerland tomorrow.

The ceremony in Nyon will get under way at 11am Irish time and will feature some of the biggest clubs in European football, including titleholders Real Madrid, who scraped into the last eight courtesy of a nervy 5-4 aggregate win over Schalke.

Los Blancos will be joined in the pot by fellow Liga sides Atletico Madrid, who edged out Bayer Leverkusen on penalties on Tuesday, and Barcelona, 3-1 victors in their last-16 tie with Premier League champions Manchester City.

Unlike in the previous round, teams from the same country are not prevented from playing one another, meaning we could have an all-Spanish clash in the quarters, or an all-French affair, with Monaco having joined Chelsea’s conquerors, Paris Saint-Germain, in the last eight by sneaking past Arsenal in midweek.

Germany is represented by 2013 champions Bayern Munich, while Italy have a side in the quarters for the first time in two seasons, with Juventus having progressed courtesy of an impressive 4-1 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund.
