LEINSTER, ULSTER AND MUNSTER have all been handed tough draws for next season’s Champions Cup.
Leinster will come across Toulon-bound Paul O’Connell in Pool 5, with English sides Bath and Wasps joining the champions from the last five seasons in the group.
Leinster faced both English sides in last season’s competition, beating Bath in the quarter finals, after a win and a draw against Wasps in their pool.
Ulster also have a daunting task to qualify for the quarter finals, up against Premiership champions Saracens, and the Top 14′s Toulouse and Oyannax in Pool 1, although it does look slightly less frightening than last season’s group.
Similarly Munster look to have done better than they did 12 months ago, but Pool 4 isn’t without danger, as face new Top 14 champions Stade Francais, Leicester Tigers and Benetton Treviso.
It was also announced that at this afternoon’s draw that the final for the 2016 competition would be held in Lyon, at the brand new Stade des Lumieres (capacity 59,000).
