Celtic will bring 'strong team' to Dublin to play Shamrock Rovers

Brendan Rodgers’ treble-winners are coming to Tallaght Stadium in July.

SHAMROCK ROVERS HAVE announced a friendly with Celtic for next month.

The SSE Airtricity League Premier Division club, who have already confirmed that Burnley will visit Tallaght Stadium 14 July, are hosting the Scottish treble-winners a week earlier on 8 July.

The game will act as a warm-up for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier and manager Brendan Rodgers has promised to bring a full first-team squad.

Rovers, meanwhile, are due to play the second leg of their Europa League first qualifying round tie two days earlier.

We’re looking forward to going over and taking Celtic to our great supporters in Ireland and it’s good point in the season to get some pre-season sharpness,” said Rodgers.

“We’ll have a strong team there, we are not sending a Celtic XI or a reserve team, we are bringing the strongest squad that we have. It will be all the first team squad, players and management.”

Tickets are priced at €20 and a limited number of concession tickets (€10) will be on sale at tomorrow’s night matches against St Patrick’s Athletic.

Best player ever, off his nut the whole time and still dragged a team to a world cup and helped napoli to league titles. Absolute genius

@Johnny Bravo: Really?? I knew you were only a young lad.. Anyone with any real interest of football knows all about his woes.Been too well documented over the years. More importantly people remember his absolute genius on the pitch. Personally found the article a very monotonous regurgitated piece of jounalism.

Terrible article really about maradonna. We all know his issues off the pitch. God knows there is countless books. Not enough about problems his feet caused in the article. Also won a european title with napoli. An unbelievable achievment orchestrated by his talent. Or not a mention of tje brutality he sufffered by getting kicked to pieces for his entire stay in Spain yet still made them look ridiculous. No, very bad excerpt. After all we’re talking about the greatest footballer to ever live. Total genius. Bad form!

As far as i know he won 2 leagues with Napoli and a European cup, possibly the UEFA cup. He was a mad genius as are most of those who aspire to greatness. He continues to be a bit touched even as we speak. Where did it all go wrong?
