Off-field issues for Celtic once again after training ground bust-up

Full-back Emilio Izaguirre clashed with striker Nadir Ciftci and needed treatment afterwards.

JUST DAYS AFTER Kris Commons was reprimanded by the club for reacting furiously to be substituted in a Europa League clash against Molde, another off-field incident has occurred at Celtic.

This time, Emilio Izaguirre needed stitches after clashing with Nadir Ciftci during training.

The Turk retaliated after a challenge from the full-back and Izaguirre required treatment after being hit in the ear.

Manager Ronny Deila wasn’t there when the incident took place but discussed it afterwards, stressing that it was nothing serious and both players had been spoken to.

“I always say to my players I want 100% and we have a fantastic atmosphere on the training pitch. Sometimes it gets a little too hot”, Deila said.

Earlier this year, Ciftci was banned for six games after being found guilty of biting Dundee’s Jim McAllister while at local rivals Dundee United.

Celtic’s next game is on Wednesday against Hearts and both players are available to play.
