CELTIC WILL HEAD into their Champions League match away to Borussia Moenchengladbach in high confidence after they defeated Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie today.

Meanwhile, Rangers moved up to second place in the Scottish Premiership as they defeated Kilmarnock 3-0 to record their biggest league victory of the season.

Captain Lee Wallace opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Andy Halliday slotted home a 29th-minute penalty after Jason Holt had been fouled.

Joe Garner added a third just 90 seconds after the break as Rangers scored three in the league for the first time this term.

The win leaves Rangers nine points behind Celtic, who have a game in hand over their Old Firm rivals.
