After securing the WBA and IBF super-bantamweight titles, Frampton moved up to featherweight to beat Leo Santa Cruz last July.
In January however, Frampton suffered his first professional defeat in a rematch against Santa Cruz.
He subsequently failed to make the required weight for a scheduled bout against Andres Gutierrez, which resulted in the cancellation of the fight.
Frampton released a statement earlier this month, confirming his split from manager Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions, but did not comment on his future with Shane McGuigan at the time.

Moore steps into the new role for the two-weight world champion, following a frustrating 2017 for ‘The Jackal.’
It was speculated that the pair would link up after they were pictured together over the weekend, and Frampton confirmed the news on Twitter.
