FORMER TWO-WEIGHT world champion Carl Frampton has confirmed he has parted company with manager Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions.
Following the cancellation of Frampton’s scheduled bout with Mexican Andres Gutierrez last month, speculation had circulated regarding ‘The Jackal’s future with the company, but the 30-year-old Belfast fighter officially announced the split in a statement released this afternoon.
Frampton reiterated that he believes he’s still the best featherweight in the world, and thanked the McGuigan family for their contribution to his illustrious career to date.

“I can confirm I have parted company with Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions,” Frampton said.
“I would like to thank Barry, the McGuigan family, and Cyclone Promotions for our time together.
“Having taken time to consider my future and discussed it with those closest to me, I am confident that now is the right time to move forward and take my career into my own hands.
I still believe that I’m the best featherweight in the world and I promise my fans that I am continuing with my efforts to get my homecoming fight rescheduled in the very near future.
Frampton did not confirm as to whether he will continue to be trained by Shane McGuigan.
