CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB BRISTOL City are on quite the run in this season’s Carabao Cup.

Having already knocked Premier League sides Watford and Stoke City out of the competition, the Robins hosted relegation strugglers Crystal Palace at Ashton Gate late night.

And Bristol ran out 4-1 winners over Roy Hodgson’s side to book their place in the quarter-final, with Ireland international Callum O’Dowda on the scoresheet.

The 22-year-old, who was starting his seventh game of the season, controlled the ball on the edge of the box before striking beautifully past Welsh goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy.

It was the winger’s first goal for the club since joining from Oxford United in July 2016.

Martin O’Neill names his squad for the World Cup play-off with Denmark tomorrow and O’Dowda is certain to be in it, having made his first competitive start in the recent win over Moldova.
