Séamus Callanan was stuck in a dental surgery following yesterday's Munster semi-final

Rather than celebrating with his team-mates, the full-forward had to pay a visit to the dentist.

SÉAMUS CALLANAN WAS forced to make a trip to the dentist in Tipperary after he helped his side to victory over Limerick in the Munster semi-final.

Callanan, who hit 2-5 in the 16 point victory over the Treaty, took a blow to the face when he collided with Limerick goalkeeper Barry Hennessy in the 54th minute.

The Drom and Inch man was one of the leading lights for the Premier County as they stopped Limerick from making it a hat-trick of championship victories in a row over their near neighbours.

Last year’s top scorer in the championship left the field for eight minutes, as Michael Breen took his place as a temporary blood sub, before returning again seven minutes later.

Callanan still managed to get on the scoreboard following his re-introduction, pointing a free with five minutes left on the clock.

Yesterday evening a dentist based in Cahir tweeted to show that the full-forward popped in for a bit of treatment following the game, and he looks to be in good form despite the bloodied mouth.
