'Leicester are the team to avoid' - Buffon doesn't want to face Foxes in Champions League

The draw takes place on Friday.

ICONIC JUVENTUIS GOALKEEPER Gianluigi Buffon has named Leicester City as the only team he wants to avoid in the Champions League quarter-finals after the Premier League champions knocked out Sevilla.

The Foxes ran out 2-0 winners at the King Power Stadium to clinch a 3-2 aggregate victory in their last-16 tie, and their growing reputation around Europe was confirmed by veteran Italian star Buffon.

While Leicester triumphed, Juventus cruised to a 1-0 win over 10-man Porto in Turin, with Paulo Dybalaโ€™s first-half penalty ensuring a 3-0 aggregate scoreline in favour of the Serie A leaders.

Despite the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid being in the last eight, Buffon picked out Leicester as the competitionโ€™s danger team.

He told Premium Sport: โ€œThe only team Iโ€™d like to avoid in the draw is Leicester.

โ€œThey have got enthusiasm, they know how to hurt the strongest teams. Weโ€™d have everything to lose against them.โ€

The draw for the quarter-finals takes place on Friday, with the ties to be played in mid-April.

Itโ€™s unlikely to happen but itโ€™d be mad if they were relegated and won the champions league. Anyone know if something like that has ever happened?

Harchester United got relegated and reached the quarter final of the Champions League in 2003/04. Leicester could go one better than the mighty Dream Team.

Things went very bad for the poor girl afterwards. She ended up working in a factory in Manchester I believe.

Great performance from Leicester in fairness but you donโ€™t have to be a Phd in quantum physics to work out how they play. Press and counter attack. A good tactically disciplined side like Juve wonโ€™t have any problem getting through 2 legs with Leicester.

There in the q finals because they hadda fairly average group and they played a team in the last 8 with very little character when the going got tough and they got rid of the manager and got the man they wanted and that rejuvenated them to get back playing the way the were I think

What a player says in the media versus what he says behind closed doors are two different things, I think Juventus would be thrilled to get Leicester in the quarters, over two legs I can see Juventus doing a number on them, I mean come on he would hardly rather get Real or Barcelona now would he?
