“PREDICTABLE” ISN’T EXACTLY a word you’d use to describe Bubba Watson. Maybe that’s what made his menu for last night’s Champions Dinner so unpredictable.
The Tuesday night banquet is one of the many venerable traditions at Augusta National as all of the green jacket winners gather for a meal.
As the reigning champion, Watson has the honour of designing the menu. It’s usually a chance to force a few childhood favourites and hometown delicacies on some of golf’s biggest names and on that front, Bubba didn’t disappoint.
His Southern fingerprints are all over a menu that started with a Caesar salad and corn muffins, followed by a main course of grilled chicken breast with green beans, corn, mashed potato and mac and cheese, with confetti cake and vanilla ice-cream for dessert.
Sound familiar? It should — it’s the exact same menu that Watson served up two years ago after winning his first green jacket.
Still, it sounds delish.
Less used back roads around towns should be closed off to traffic, to encourage walkers and cyclists to exercise while respecting social distancing guidelines.
This should become a permanent arrangement.
@JR Lewis: what about the people who live and work on those roads? Should tractors and local traffic be diverted too?
I would love to but the parks and walks are closed due to covid19.
