WE’RE OPEN TO correction here, but we can’t recall any serious beef between Brian O’Driscoll and Australia wing Adam Ashley-Cooper.
Over the years the pair would have clashed countless times across several international Tests and one or two Lions fixtures too.
On Friday night though, O’Driscoll was on Off The Ball talking about the career options open to Ian Madigan and the Bordeaux link dragged Ashley-Cooper into the mix. Of course, the comment found its way to the Wallaby via the magic of the internet…
Without the ability to slide in to BOD’s DMs, we don’t know whether he sent a private reply as a nod and a wink to Ashley-Cooper or not. What we do know is, on the record and after a long weekend of analysing Champions Cup games, he didn’t even hint at a backward step.

@AdamCoopy that quote is incorrect. It should have said 'pension' instead of 'a bit of money'... And there's no shame in that!
In separate replies (like this one and this one) O’Driscoll has hinted that the whole thing was nothing too serious. Even so, we badly needed a deft intervention from Matt Giteau to take a little heat out of the situation.

AAC, the ball has been whacked back in your court.
Ouch, Adam. Ouch. You’ve left BOD no choice but to break out the French, the hashtags and even (dramatic music) an emoji.
Three thumbs up? Vicious.
