2007 All-Ireland final goalkeeper and 4 current U21s named in Limerick intermediate team

Limerick face Clare in Sunday’s curtain-raiser at Semple Stadium at 2pm.

LIMERICK WILL CALL upon the county’s goalkeeper in the 2007 All-Ireland senior hurling final for their Munster intermediate hurling clash against Clare on Sunday.

Brian Murray has been named between the posts by manager Don Flynn for the quarter-final that is the curtain-raiser to Sunday’s senior showdown.

Four current Limerick U21′s are named in the starting side with Sean Finn named at right corner-back, Barry O’Connell selected at full-back, Diarmuid Byrnes picked at centre-back and Kevin O’Brien set to play at half-forward.

O’Brien won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal this year with UL as did fellow wing-forward Mark Carmody and sub goalkeeper David McCarthy.

Finn and substitute Colin Ryan were both members of last year’s Limerick minor side that reached the All-Ireland final while Richard English and Darragh O’Donovan were part of the victorious Munster minor side in 2013.

Throw-in at Semple Stadium is 2pm
