It all went downhill for Rodgers very quickly. Martin Rickett

Did Liverpool make the right decision by sacking Brendan Rodgers?

Do you agree with Jamie Carragher and feel the timing was all wrong?

BRENDAN RODGERS WAS given his marching orders by Liverpool last night and some quarters have questioned the timing and manner of the decision.

After placing faith in the Northern Irishman during the summer, the first eight games of the season have clearly changed the Anfield hierarchyโ€™s mind and reports suggest Rodgersโ€™ fate was determined before yesterdayโ€™s 1-1 draw at Everton.

Although itโ€™s been a stuttering start to the campaign, the Reds lie just four points off Manchester United and Arsenal yet the Fenway Sports Group had decided Rodgers was no longer the man for the job.

But was it the right decision? And why now?

Jamie Carragher, among others, have questioned the timing of the Anfield boardโ€™s move, particularly considering Rodgers was given ยฃ80 million to spend during the transfer window.

โ€œIโ€™d prefer them to have done it in the summer but heโ€™s been there three and a bit years, he hasnโ€™t won a trophy and theyโ€™ve played Champions League football once,โ€ Carragher said on Sky Sports.

โ€œThatโ€™s not good enough for Liverpool.โ€

Iโ€™m not renewing my membership unless the adds are removed. Iโ€™m seeing this trend in media greed of using both premium membership and add revenue, sick of it.

@Hud Hastings: If they brought the subscription down to โ‚ฌ30 they would have way more people subscribing. Then they may not need ad revenue too.

@Con Cussed: from what Iโ€™ve seen , thereโ€™s been a big fall off in reader participation / debate / sharing info and knowledge as well as some of the good natured banter between supporters โ€“ I see some names featuring on other fora now โ€“ as an initiative , I think itโ€™s failed , no going back now โ€ฆ..
