Liverpool owners erase any trace of Brendan Rodgers by removing his staff too

Gary McAllister and Sean O’Driscoll have both lost their jobs.

THE BRENDAN RODGERS era is certainly over at Liverpool and Fenway Sports Group are intent on removing any trace of the Northern Irishman’s tenure.

In the summer, Rodgers’ long-time assistant Colin Pascoe and coach Mike Marsh were relieved of their duties and replaced by Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister.

Now, after just a few months involved in the setup, the latter duo are gone.

Jurgen Klopp, who has agreed to become the new Liverpool boss according to latest reports, wants to bring his own coaching team to Merseyside. As a result, O’Driscoll has decided to leave the club while it seems increasingly likely that McAllister will also be forced out.

On Thursday, he took training at Melwood despite being informed earlier in the day that he would not be continuing as first-team coach though he may be offered a more junior role.

Chris Davies, Liverpool’s head of opposition analysis, is also gone – he joined the club in 2012 along with Rodgers while Head of Performance, Glen Driscoll, has also lost his job.
