The Whitegate club man started out with Clare in 2007 and featured in the Munster hurling final in 2008.
He was one of the few players from that side to still be involved for more recent Clare glory days in 2013 when they lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup and in 2016 when they were crowned hurling league champions.

In 2012 he won his first All-Star award, the only Clare hurler selected on that year’s team and the first from the Banner county since 2006.
Then in 2013, Bugler was one of eight Clare hurlers honoured after a glorious year for the county.
He was part of the Clare squad this season that contested the Munster hurling final against Cork before they lost at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage to Tipperary.
