Bray, currently second from bottom in the Premier Division table after 12 matches played, have found their man and this afternoon unveiled him at a press conference in Dublin.
The ex-Shamrock Rovers boss Croly has signed a three-year deal with the Wicklow club, while his former number two John Gill has been named as assistant manager.
“In Trevor, Bray Wanderers are making a commitment to the future with an outstanding coach who has the skills, ability and qualities to secure consistency and success for the club,” a statement from the club reads.
“Trevor also has proven himself as a committed advocate of the development of youth football and structures, both of which are important parts of the clubs plans.
Trevor has signed for a three year term, which was agreed as the minimum needed to establish a youth system that will provide the right opportunities for young footballers to fulfil their potential within the community based club Bray Wanderers intends to be.”
Having worked as first team coach under Liam Buckley at St Patrick’s Athletic, the 41-year-old took over the Hoops in late 2012 but left by mutual consent after a disappointing spell in August 2014.

SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE club Bray Wanderers have announced Trevor Croly as their new manager.
The Seagulls have been looking to replace Alan Mathews since April, when he and his backroom staff handed in their resignations. Polish coach Maciej Tarnogrodzki took up the role on a caretaker basis for the past six weeks but the club announced on Thursday that he was stepping down.
