DERRY CITY TOOK their season tally to six points from a possible nine and heaped further misery on pointless Bray Wanderers as they did so.
Wicklow’s own Aaron Barry and Derry native Rory Patterson landed the goals as they cruised to a 0-3 victory against the hapless Seagulls side.

Barry nodded home after six minutes after a cute near-post cross from Barry McNamee and the attacking midfielder caused all sorts of problems in the first half.
Their blank meant it is just one goal in over 270 minutes of league action for Bray and it will have been one of the easier evenings of Gerard Doherty’s illustrious career with the home side failing to force him into a single save.
City played the second half at their own pace but Patterson came to life inside the final 20 minutes to bag a brace that lifted them into the top five.
His first saw him tuck away Harry Monaghan’s cross from the left while his second was all about his own work; skinning Finnegan before rounding Cherrie and rolling home his side’s third to cap a fine performance and a superb four days for the Candystripes.
BRAY: Peter Cherrie; Hugh Douglas, Alan McNally (C), Paul Finnegan, Jason Marks (Curtis Murphy, 70); Alan Byrne; Mark Salmon (Ger Pender, 70), Robbie Creevy, Ryan Brennan, Karl Moore (Dylan Connolly, 87); Andrew Lewis.
DERRY: Gerard Doherty; Niclas Vemmelund, Ryan McBride (C), Aaron Barry, Dean Jarvis; Gareth McGlynn (Aaron McEneff, 79), Conor McCormack (Keith Ward, 88), Harry Monaghan, Ronan Curtis; Barry McNamee; Rory Patterson. The42 is on Snapchat! Tap the button below on your phone to add!
