NOT CONTENT WITH 22 seasons as professional, rugby union and league legend Brad Thorn will make a seamless transition to coaching after he retires as a player next month.
Fox yesterday reported that The Heineken and World Cup winner, who began his rugby league career in Brisbane, will hang up his boots at the end of Leicester Tigers’ Premiership campaign next month and will ignore the temptation to rest the body.
Instead, the 40-year-old Thorn has been recruited by the Queensland Reds to help coach the Super XV side’s up and coming forwards.
The Reds will hope that Thorn can have an instant impact on not just the emerging talent, but the entire organisation as they currently sit 13th in the Super XV table with just two wins from their 10 matches so far.
