Bohemians issue statement following crowd trouble at Dalymount Park

Tonight’s match was interrupted owing to crowd disturbances, with members of the Gardaí ultimately having to intervene.

BOHEMIANS HAVE ISSUED a statement condemning a minority of fans who caused crowd trouble during their game with Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park this evening.

Tonight’s match was interrupted owing to crowd disturbances, with members of the Gardaí ultimately having to intervene as a result.

The home club’s statement read: “Bohemian FC wishes to express our disappointment with the small minority in attendance who were responsible for causing crowd disturbances which interrupted tonight’s game against Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park.

“The club will work closely with stewards and An Garda Síochána to identify the individuals responsible.”

It is not the first team this season that a League of Ireland match has been marred by crowd trouble.

There were unsavoury scenes in the game between Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers on the opening weekend of the season, while last month, Cork City issued a statement condemning individuals who attacked a group of supporters after their encounter with Derry.
