Big blow to Kevin Doyle's Euro 2016 hopes as he's stretchered off

The 32-year-old forward was one of the players considered a doubt for the 23-man Euros squad before tonight.

THERE WAS BAD news for Kevin Doyle tonight, as he was stretchered off after just 27 minutes of the Ireland-Switzerland friendly with what looked a bad injury.

The Colarado Rapids striker was replaced by Daryl Murphy, after landing on his ankle awkwardly following a 50:50 challenge with his opponent.

The 32-year-old forward was one of the players considered a doubt for the 23-man Euros squad before tonight, and this latest setback is a further blow to his hopes of earning a place on the plane to France.
