Bisping set UFC record for all-time victories as he retained middleweight title last night

Bisping triumphed at UFC 204 in Manchester.

MICHAEL BISPING RETAINED his UFC middleweight title last night and in the process gained revenge for a defeat seven years ago.

In front of his hometown fans at the Manchester Arena, Bisping saw off Dan Henderson as he won a unanimous decision with a pair 48-47 scores and a 49-46.

The result saw Bisping avenge his knockout loss to Henderson at UFC 100 and he has now set the UFC record for all-time victories with last night’s the 20th of his career.

Bisping paid tribute to the retiring Henderson, when speaking to reporters afterwards.

“This man is incredible. He just kicked my ass.

“All the trash talking, you gotta respect that guy, he’s a legend.”

“I appreciate all the support throughout the years, worldwide,” Henderson stated.

“I gave my heart and soul to this sport, you made it worthwhile to keep competing year after year. I love this sport.

“I want to say thank you for the fans for making this happen, thank you for this opportunity, I came up a little short, not bad for an old man.”
