KILKENNY’S BENNETTSBRIDGE HAVE booked their spot in the All-Ireland intermediate hurling final after an impressive victory against Wolfe Tones this afternoon.
Last year’s junior All-Ireland champions secured a seven-point victory in Banagher, County Offaly and they will face Abbeyknockmoy (Galway) or Creggan Kickhams (Antrim) in the final.
The other semi-final will be played in Navan tomorrow, with throw-in at 1pm.

Elsewhere this afternoon, Marist College Athlone booked their spot in the Leinster Colleges senior football final. But they still don’t know who they will face in the decider as Dublin’s St Benildus College and Scoil Mhuire Clane couldn’t be separated after extra time.
They say goals win games and that was certainly the case for Marist, as they prevailed in Athy against Good Counsel New Ross, the reigning champions, on a bizarre 3-1 to 0-8 scoreline. The game took a while to get going with Good Counsel leading at the break 0-2 to 0-1.
The other semi-final, between St Benildus College and Scoil Mhuire Clane, was a thrilling encounter in difficult conditions in the Louth GAA Centre of Excellence in Darver.
The sides were deadlocked at full-time, Scoil Mhuire’s 1-6 to St Benildus’ 0-9, and two pulsating halves of extra-time failed to produce a winner.
The Dublin school looked to have snatched the victory with their first and only goal of the game but two late Ciarán Kelly frees saw the Kildare school salvage a replay, the game finishing 2-9 to 1-12.
Also today, Waterford had far too much firepower in their Munster Senior Hurling clash against Kerry.
With the likes of Maurice Shanahan, Colin Dunford and Patrick Curran leading the attack, the Déise ran out comfortable 0-17 to 0-8 winners in difficult Killarney conditions.
It made it four losses from four in the competition for the Kingdom while Waterford will be delighted to get a win ahead of the start of the National League following three successive defeats.
