Rugby player gets second red card in as many games after sickening WWE-style tackle

Sickening suplex tackle lands him yet another red card.

YOU MAY OR may not remember Ben Pomeroy.

Less than two weeks ago, the Australian found himself on The42.ie after he was red carded for a sickening shoulder charge to his opponent’s face, while playing for the Catalans Dragons.

But on his return from suspension, Pomeroy only lasted 28 minutes on the pitch before walking to the line yet again.

Tackling Castleford’s Ashley Gibson around the waist, the red mist seemed to descend, as Pomeroy then picked his opponent up – wrestling style -and performed a suplex on him, driving him head-first into the ground.

Because of his red card less than two weeks ago, the Australian is now in line for a lengthy suspension, and it’e being reported that he has played his last game for the club.

Pomeroy’s contract with the Catalans is up at the end of the season, and it’s thought the club are reluctant to offer him a new deal given his recent disciplinary issues.
