What was Ben Botica thinking with this last-minute blunder in the Challenge Cup final?

Conor O’Shea’s last game in charge of Quins ended like this.

CONOR O’SHEA TIME in charge of Harlequins ended in huge disappointment last night.

The Irishman’s last game in charge — before he heads off to take over Italy’s national team – was the European Challenge Cup final.

Quins were chasing a try to tie the game against Montpellier when Ben Botica inexplicably kicked the ball away, allowing Jessie Mogg to boot the ball off the field.

O’Shea consoled the New Zealand native on the pitch afterwards, who is also, coincidentally, leaving the club. He joins Montpellier.

Getting Jermaine Defoe and swapping him for Jozy Altidore is probably one of the best transfer deals ever.
