IRELAND WENT BEHIND at Turner’s Cross this evening, as Mikhail Hardzeichuk gave the visitors a surprise lead.

David Meyler lost possession in midfield, allowing Belarus to punish their opponents with a swift counter-attacking move in the 20th minute.

Despite being ranked 77th in the world — 46 places below Ireland — Belarus looked comfortable for much of the first half, as Ireland struggled to create chances.
