Manuel Neuer's absence keenly felt as replacement goalkeeper's howler costs Bayern

Sven Ulreich had a tough night as Carlo Ancelotti’s side surrendered a two-goal lead against Wolfsburg.

BAYERN MUNICH WERE cantering towards an easy win over Wolfsburg and set to move into top spot in the Bundesliga thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben.

And then their guests were awarded a free-kick 25-yards out.

Maxi Arnold stepped up but it his effort was far too close to Sven Ulreich – Bayern’s number two and who’s now set for an extended run in the first-team owing to Manuel Neuer’s injury.

But, Ulreich made a mess of the save, attempting to claw the strike away with one hand.

The ball had far too much pace on it, skimmed off of Ulreich’s right wrist and nestled in the net.

Things then got worse for Bayern when they conceded a second with seven minutes to go as Daniel Didavi headed home.

It’s the second league game that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have dropped points in so far having suffered defeat to Hoffenheim earlier this month.
