We're going out to score five against Juve - Luis Enrique

Barcelona produced a barely-believable comeback in the last round, but their latest opponents are less likely to crumble.

BARCELONA WILL NEED to hit at least five goals past Juventus to produce another miracle Champions League comeback, but have nothing to lose according to outgoing coach Luis Enrique.

The Catalans made Champions League history by overcoming a 4-0 first leg deficit to beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 in the last round, but have another mountain to climb at the Camp Nou on Wednesday as they trail their quarter-final tie 3-0.

“We need to score fewer goals,” said an upbeat Enrique facing what could be his last European game in charge. “But bearing in mind the opponent could have chances and the goal can come at any moment, our objective is to score five.”

Enrique foresaw Barca’s recovery in the last 16, claiming an attack laced with the potential of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar was capable of scoring six against the French champions.

And he called for an expected near 100,000 crowd to play their part as they did against PSG.

“We don’t have anything to lose. We are free from pressure. Juventus have the semi-finals in their pocket and will have to decide whether to sit back or attack,” he added.

“We only have one option which is to attack, attack and attack again.

I am sure that if we score the first goal, the Camp Nou will score the second and the third will come of its own accord.”

Barca captain Andres Iniesta was more cautious in his optimism, recognising the first leg in Turin had been “a terrible result.”

However, he believes Barca have the potential to at least create some doubt in Juventus minds.

“Nowadays teams respect us a lot. I am convinced they know we can cause them problems,” said Iniesta.

“We have the potential, the players and reason to believe we can turn this tie around or at least get close to it.

“We need to create doubts so at some point they see the tie is in danger.

“Everything depends on playing a perfect game in every sense.”

Barca scored three times in the final two minutes plus stoppage time as PSG froze in a grandstand finish six weeks ago.

And Enrique insisted Barca can’t lose belief even if the goals don’t come early against a Juventus defence that has conceded just two in nine Champions League games this season.

“Don’t leave in the 80th minute,” he said in a message to the fans.

“We are going to try until the end. Those of us who experienced the game against PSG have another chance to experience a historic night.

“We have seen that Barca can score three goals in three minutes so we will stay together until the 95th minute.”

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini won his latest battle with Luis Suarez in the first leg after the Uruguayan famously bit the Italian at the 2014 World Cup.

Chiellini scored his side’s third goal a week ago after Paulo Dybala’s early double and insists Juventus will need all their experience to stand up to Barca’s “sharks”.

We will have to play without fear because they are like sharks — they smell blood and they finish you off,” he told Sky Sports Italia.

The visitors were handed a big injury boost as Dybala has been passed fit to play despite picking up an ankle injury in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Pescara.

Barca will welcome back Iniesta and Neymar from the side that beat Real Sociedad 3-2 at the weekend with Messi’s double in that match taking him within two of 500 goals for the club.

If you think O’Mahony isn’t guaranteed a start next week then you must start rating ice hockey games or something because you know nothing about rugby!!! Turnovers at the breakdown, turnover at the line out, 4 tackles on Kieran Reid, tiding up loose ball, tracking the ball carrier and carrying himself. Get a new job!!!

@Jimmy Dox: the Lions back row as a unit were destroyed by the NZ trio who balanced each other and were very effective.
It’s an area the Lions must fix by next week.
I don’t know what the answer is.

Far from the most knowledgeable rugby man but it seems in modern rugby the coaches seem to stick to pre planned substitutions. Bringing teo o Mahony and George off completely lost momentum. Granted the two forwards had put in a big shift. Don’t think Farrell sexton is the answer either. Harsh on Daly too. Thought he was pretty good and like Williams was prepared to give it a go. Kruis had one of those days!

@John Michael Mcdonald: agree the ABs moved ahead once subs came on and made little impact. The box kick has it’s place but it’s predictable and greed up defenders. Apart from tactical changes, I’d stast with a different lock pairing (perhaps Itoje and Henderson) with Kruis on the bench. I’d also replace Warburton with CJ.What else can one do? The 8910 axis didn’t work that well. I’d like Farrell to do more of the decision-making and execution.

If you want to compete with them on the ground, tipuric is the only one who could potentially add to it but he hasn’t been himself this tour either. And you also aren’t gonna drop o brien he was possibly our best forward. O’Brien to 8 maybe as I felt Pom gave us more than faletau. It’s no easy fix.

It’s time to put an end to the Peter O Mahoney show. Not for the first time on this tour he failed to stamp any authority on the game. For those referring to his line out steal look again, it was a total screw up by NZ and fell into POMs arms he didn’t even jump. And for the lions lionouts he won, all bar one were uncontested. He’s unable to carry pretty much. He made some tackles but that’s it. More than his single tackle last week, yes single! Definitely drop him and bring someone like stander in, granted he’s fairly one dimensional but at least he will get us over the gainline. Something every carrier struggled to do today.

@Sean Masterson: good man Sean you obviously know more than most of the experts and most reasonable people watching the game. Peter O’Mahony had a good game. Was good in the lineout and in open play by disrupting. Very hard for a back row to impose themselves in the game if they are on the back foot.

@donal bigley: he was good in the lineout, of course he was, no one even jumped against him. Itoje came on immediately and had a proper steal, POM didn’t get near any of theirs. Isn’t that why he’s picked? Give me one example how he disrupted the all blacks please. Whatever happened to all the talk of him being a thorn in the side of the opposition, a nuisance? I’m not seeing any of that. No niggle from him whatsoever. He’s offering very little at this level. I’m a fan of the player and proud he’s Irish but these are facts. Why is everyone going on like he’s some God, he’s not. People putting him at the same level as POC, come on! It was another average outing this Saturday by him, better than last weeks ghost performance.

@Paul K Murphy: Of course NZ excel in the game purely because POM is off the pitch. Nothing to do with the fact they twist the knife against their opposition after the hour mark on every occasion. Did I say anything about him being picked for Munster or Ireland, did I say that was wrong? Did I say it was wrong that he was chosen on a lions tour? No I didn’t. Oh yeah he’s class at rucks of course he is, I’d kind of expect that at this level. But look at him at 15 mins and 20 seconds and come back to me on that. Petty point I don’t even like to make but when clowns like u attack valid points and then make even more moronic points that he’s a great rucker you kinda have no choice.

You will see from my initial comments that my whole point from the outset was that we all need to stop saying he is now Irelands golden boy and putting him on a pedestal along with POC or BOD he’s no where near that. Genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he’s left out next weekend. He’s not bringing to the table everything people said he would before the tour started. But sure we will let gatland decide

@Paul K Murphy: but he didn’t even hit rucks yesterday, he was very pedestrian and the lions were dominated at the breakdown. The fact remains he hasn’t delivered on what everyone thought he would on this tour. All he is doing is winning uncontested lineouts. He’s not even anywhere close to getting over the ball for a jackal. He’s not playing with his usual aggression nor is he being a nuisance like we know he can be. But people in this country think he can do no wrong. The worst part is people think the game went down the swanny because he came off. So the lions lose a scrum and that’s because the 6 has been taken off? And the 100% success rate in the lineout falls apart because he’s off also? Nothing to do with new props in the scrum and new hooker at lineout. Reality check lads!
