Barcelona set to splash out up to €55 million on one of Portugal's Euro 2016 heroes

The 22-year-old midfielder has impressed while playing for Valencia in La Liga.

BARCELONA ARE SET to conclude a deal for Valencia’s André Gomes, which could ultimately rise to €55 million.

According to the club’s official website, André Gomes will sign a five-year deal and is due to be unveiled by the club on Wednesday.

Barca will pay Valencia €35m up front for Gomes, with a potential €20m in add-ons depending on future performances of the player and the team.

There is also incentives, including up to €15m should the youngster win multiple Ballon d’Ors, while the player’s buy-out clause has been set at €100m.

The 22-year-old central midfielder only joined Valencia from Benfica last season after a successful loan spell with the Spanish club.

Since making his international debut for Portugal in September 2014, Gomes has played 13 times for his country, making five appearances during their recent Euro 2016-winning campaign.
