The 25-year-old, who only joined the Europa League winners last summer, has enjoyed a highly impressive campaign as he helped Unai Emery’s men defend their continental title and finish fifth in La Liga.

Vidal has long been touted as a firm Barcelona target – especially given the doubts over Dani Alves’ future – and the versatile right-sided player has now agreed to a five-year deal at Camp Nou after both clubs came to an agreement.

He will be unveiled on Monday afternoon following a medical with the newly-crowned Champions League winners, who paraded their three trophies around Barcelona on Sunday.

Vidal, who can operate as both a winger and an attacking full-back, has made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four times and registering 11 assists.

Under the terms of Barca’s transfer ban, Vidal – who could make his Spain debut this week – would be unable to play for the Blaugrana until January 2016 at the earliest.
