Anthony Stokes was on target as Hibs beat Rangers

The Ireland striker scored in slightly fortuitous circumstances.

AN ANTHONY STOKES goal helped Hibs earn a 3-2 victory over Rangers in the Scottish Championship this evening.

The Ireland striker scored in slightly fortuitous circumstances, as his hopeful cross slipped through the grasp of Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

On loan from Celtic, the 27-year-old now has six goals in 16 appearances since joining Hibs.

Stokes has featured in extended Ireland squads in recent months, and would be considered very much an outside bet to make the Euro 2016 squad.

That said, if he keeps playing and scoring on a regular basis, Stokes certainly won’t do his chances any harm.
