The former college football quarterback with the University of Colorado did, however, hit the canvas in his last fight against Amir Mansour before bouncing back to secure a stoppage win.
For that reason, 26-year-old Joshua is expected to come through the first defence of his belt since winning it from Charles Martin inside two rounds on 10 April.
Indeed, the British boxer has recorded 16 straight knockout victories since turning professional after winning the Olympic super-heavyweight gold at London 2012.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to fight again, especially at The O2 which I have made my fortress,” Joshua told Sky Sports.
“My coaches have watched Breazeale for a long time and they knew he was going to be a player in the division and now we get the chance to go war on 25 June.
I am looking to get past Breazeale in style and continue moving towards the unification fight everybody is waiting for. I’m looking forward to being part of a stacked night of boxing and defending my title in style.”
