WEXFORD’S ANDREW SHORE will be available to play this year after his 48-week ban for lining out for a British team last October was overturned by the GAA’s Reinstatement Committee last night in Cavan.
The decision was made at the GAA’s Annual Congress and will be a huge relief to Shore and Wexford hurling boss Liam Dunne. Shore was a key defensive component when Wexford reached the All-Ireland quarter-finals last summer.
Shore was slapped with the massive ban following a club outing with Birmingham outfit Roger Casements last October.
The Warwickshire county board imposed the suspension despite Shore’s belief that the necessary paperwork he required was in order.
