30 years later, in August 2016, Ireland’s first national American football team played their first international game against the Netherlands.
The national side recently held tryouts in Abbotstown, Dublin, for new players to break through to the Irish team for upcoming games.
With the sport going from strength to strength in Ireland, we caught up with those leading the operation to find out where the sport is headed.
