THE HURLERS OF Kerry, Kildare, Tyrone and Warwickshire are celebrating this evening after their victories in today’s Allianz Hurling League finals.
Kerry are one win away from a place in Division 1B after they recorded a 5-17 to 3-17 win against Westmeath at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, with all five goals for the Kingdom coming in the first-half.
Mickey Boyle scored a brace, in addition to further goals from Shane Nolan, Colm Harty and Keith Carmody, to give Kerry a 5-5 to 1-6 advantage at the halfway point.
Westmeath, for whom Derek McNicholas scored two goals (the other came courtesy of Darragh Clinton), never fully recovered from Kerry’s blistering first-half display, as the Munster side wrapped up a six-point win en route to winning the Division 2B title, which sets them up for a promotion relegation/play-off against Antrim next weekend.
