Here's how the next All-Ireland hurling and football qualifier draws will work

The draws take place on Monday morning.

THE NEXT DRAWS in the All-Ireland championships take place next Monday morning in the football and hurling qualifiers.

On RTÉ Radio’s Morning Ireland programme after 8.30am, the draws will take place.

But how are they going to work?

Football

The four games in Round 3A will take place on Saturday 11 July. The winners of the four clashes in Round 2A (Cavan/Roscommon, Clare/Longford, Offaly/Kildare and Fermanagh/Antrim) in one bowl.

The draw is subject to the avoidance of one potential repeat pairing (Longford v Offaly). The first team drawn has home advantage.

Hurling

The two games in Round 2 will take place on Saturday 11 July as well. This draw involves the winners of the four Round 1 games (Dublin/Laois, Clare/Offaly, Limerick/Westmeath and Cork/Wexford).

Where feasible the draw will avoid potential repeat pairings like Limerick v Clare, Laois v Offaly, Laois v Westmeath and Wexford v Westmeath.

  • If the 1st team draw cannot play the 2nd team drawn (due to having met previously), the 3rd team drawn will be away to the 1st team drawn; the 4th team drawn will be away to the 2nd team drawn.
  • If having drawn the 1st and 2nd teams, the remaining teams in the draw are two teams that cannot meet, the 3rd team will then be away to the 1st drawn, and the 4th team drawn will be away to the 2nd team drawn initially.

Confirmation of how venues, times and all dates for the fixtures will be confirmed following a meeting of the CCCC on Monday afternoon.
