THE ALL-IRELAND senior hurling qualifier race will kickstart into action after the draw takes place next Monday on โMorning Irelandโ on RTร Radio 1.
Thereโd been a few tweaks to the qualifier system this year but howโs it all going to work out before the first round of games start on 4 July?
Let us do the explaining for you.
Whoโs already in the qualifiers?
Cork and Clare are already heading to the backdoor after losing out in Munster along with Dublin, Westmeath and Offaly who have bowed out of the Leinster race.
Who else will join them?
Weโll know the remaining three teams after the games this weekend. The losers of the Munster semi-final between Tipperary and Limerick, and the losers of the Leinster clashes, Galway v Laois and Kilkenny v Wexford, will complete the eight teams.
So how many games are going to take place?
Thereโs four knockout games in Round 1 on 4 July and the winners of those four games go forward to contest two knockout games on 11 July. The two winners there will play the beaten provincial finalists on 26 July in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
And how will the draw unfold?
The teams shall be drawn from two bowls
- 1. Four Leinster championship teams
- 2. Three Munster teams plus one Leinster Championship team
The Leinster championship team to be included in the Munster group must be one of the two teams that qualified for the Leinster quarter-finals through the provincial qualifier group.
That will be either Laois or Westmeath but will definitely be Westmeath if Laois qualify for the Leinster final.
If Laois lose, a draw will be made to determine whether they or Westmeath are included in Bowl 2.
So that means at the moment we have Dublin, Offaly and Wexford/Kilkenny definitely in Bowl 1 along with Clare, Cork and Limerick/Tipperary definitely in Bowl 2.
Anything else we should know?
The venues will be played on a home or away basis and will be determined by a seperate draw.
There will be an attempt avoid repeat pairings which could include clashes like Dublin v Galway, Offaly v Laois and Wexford v Westmeath.

Wife? 21? Really?
The wags are getting them locked down young
When I was 21 I was blowing shit up in the microwave ala Ian Henderson in a student house
Anthony Martial is married with two kids at 19. She knewโฆ
Coutinho been married since he was 19 too I believe.
Check her out, sheโs an absolute lasher. Iโd be wifing that at 21 as well.
Image of Bale
Letโs hope he will be as good as Bale !
They say supposedly thereโs around 7 people in the world who look exactly like you..
Yip. Lucky enough that mine is Ryan Gosling
:D
Heโd make more money as an impersonator
Or even league one. Being on the books at a top prem club then going to league two is a massive drop down
And probably offers us an insight into the actual level that this fella is at. Heโs not going to league 2 for any other reason than he didnโt have any other options. He might rebound in a few years but Iโve a feeling that looking like Bale will be as close to a top footballer that he may ever be and I mean that as no slight against him, the odds of making it at the top level of football are in the high millions.
Jamie Vardy. โฆ.
Surely he could have been picked up by a championship club rather than having to drop down to league 2
Why would that be?
You would think that. But here we are.
And york city are in last place
Plot twist, Kenny is actually playing for Madrid and Bale is off to the metropolis of York.
So it was Kenny who got Wales to euro 2016!!!
Give him time, Alan Judge was in a similar situation when Blackburn. Now PL teams are interested in signing him.
Hope ha can play like bale
