Two big games in store after today's All-Ireland hurling qualifier draw

The games will take place next weekend on 9-10 July.

THE ALL-IRELAND ROUND 2 hurling qualifier draw has taken place this morning with Davy Fitzgerald and TJ Ryan set to renew acquaintances.

The Clare and Limerick bosses saw their teams paired against each other with Kieran Kingston’s Cork set to face Liam Dunne’s Wexford.

Clare defeated Limerick in March’s Allianz hurling league clash in Ennis which settled the promotion battle from Division 1B.

In last Saturday’s qualifier games, Clare thrashed Laois while 14-man Limerick saw off Westmeath. Cork ran out three-point winners at home to Dublin while Wexford defeated Offaly.

The times and venues for the clashes which will take place next weekend, will be revealed later after a meeting of the GAA’s CCCC this afternoon.

It is likely to be a double-header with Thurles the most obvious venue to stage the games. In 2012 the four counties contested an All-Ireland senior hurling phase 3 qualifier double-header when Cork triumphed 3-24 to 2-17 against Wexford while Limerick beat Clare by 3-18 to 1-20.

Here’s confirmation of the games that are in store.
