And today it was announced that another superstar would be joining.
Alex Morgan is the best-known name in US women’s football circles. The 27-year-old has been an integral part of the senior international team for the past five years and starred at both the 2011 and 2015 World Cups, the latter proving victorious for the US side. She’s also an Olympic gold medalist.
A lightning-fast attacker, she’s spent her entire career in the US domestic league and has been with Orlando Pride since earlier this year.
She has signed a six-month deal with Lyon, with the plan for her to return to Orlando in early-June next year.
The Champions League resumes in March and Morgan will be eligible to feature, as Lyon look to secure back-to-back titles.
