ALEX FERGUSON TRACKED down Danny Willett last night — and told the new Masters champion that he had just cost him an £8,000 bet.

England’s Willett was the shock winner at Augusta National after defending champion Jordan Spieth capitulated on the back nine and had to settle for a share of second place.

“I had £8,000 on Spieth,” former Manchester United boss Ferguson revealed when he met Willett afterwards.

“Oh, sorry!” the champion laughed before Ferguson added, “I’m so delighted honestly. Happy to throw it away!”
