The Texas Rangers scored on one of the strangest plays in playoff history last night

And nobody was sure if it should count or not.

IN THE SEVENTH inning of last night’s deciding game five of the American League Divisional Series, the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays were tied 2-2.

Then things went a little crazy.

The Rangers were batting with two outs but had a runner — Rougned Odor — on third base.

With Aaron Sanchez pitching for the Blue Jays, Rangers batter Shin-Soo Choo took a bog-standard ball before stretching his arm out to fix his shirt sleeve.

At the same time, catcher Russell Martin tries to throw the ball back to the pitcher but it hit Choo’s hand before running away from everyone.

As Odor was scampering home to steal a run, the play was called dead by the home plate umpire. However, after reviewing it, the umpires decided to award the run to put the Rangers 3-2 up.

Not to be outdone, the Jays’ Jose Bautista stepped up at the bottom of the seventh to blast a three-run homer and send his side into the American League Championship Series — where they’ll face the Kansas City Royals — with a 6-3 win.
