THEY HAVEN’T FOUGHT yet but reigning UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo (25-1) says he’s already keen on a rematch against interim title-holder Conor McGregor (18-2).
After their scheduled bout last month in Las Vegas was postponed due to an injury to Aldo, the pair will meet instead on 12 December in the main event at UFC 194.
It’s expected that even if Aldo is beaten, the Brazilian — undefeated in 10 years – will be awarded an immediate shot at redemption, given his dominance of the 145lbs division.

Aldo expects to extend his winning run when he takes on McGregor, a fight that will see him earn more money than ever before. As a result, he’s eager to cash in as much as possible.
The 28-year-old spoke to reporters in Las Vegas yesterday and admitted that fighting McGregor more than once will be good for his bank account — similar to Anderson Silva’s rivalry with Chael Sonnen.
“I’d prefer if it happens more times because it puts more money in my pocket, for sure. I’ll go inside the ring, beat this guy, and if it happens again it’s good,” said Aldo, whose comments were translated by coach Andre Pederneiras.
“I saw this thing happen with Sonnen and Anderson. If it happens again, for me it’s good. I just think about the money.”
When asked if McGregor is good for the sport, Aldo said: “I don’t know if Conor is good for the sport, but for me, for sure, he is. I want to see more Conors come to my weight class to fight me; like him, talking too much because it puts a lot of money in my pocket.”
Aldo also claimed that he’s got massive support going into December’s fight — and not just back home: “Not only in Brazil, here [in the US] too. Everyone I see here says to me, ‘you need to kill this guy, man; this guy has a big mouth, you’re going to kill this guy, please’.”
