Dana White keeps Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor apart during their staredown in Toronto.

Jose Aldo plays down reports that he was slapped by Conor McGregor

“There was no slap. He pulled my jacket.”

JOSE ALDO’S CAMP warned Dana White to make sure Conor McGregor didn’t touch the featherweight champion during their UFC 189 media tour, but it appears that the UFC president may have slipped up.

According to White, Aldo was “crazy” after McGregor slapped his back before an appearance on a Canadian morning show in Toronto on Friday.

“(A producer was) trying to put Conor McGregor in a seat behind (Aldo) and Conor McGregor reached over and slapped Aldo’s back,” White told The Fight Network. “And now Aldo is crazy and doesn’t want to do most the stuff we have to do today.”

However, the Brazilian had a different version of events when he spoke to UFC.com.br.

“I was sitting on the couch with Dana, and he (McGregor) sat behind me,” said Aldo. “He pulled my jacket so I stood up immediately. Dana separated us and apologised.

“There was no slap. He pulled my jacket. That’s what happened. It looks like Dana said that he slapped me but he didn’t even see it.”

So there was no slap, McGregor just pulled Aldo’s jacket. Reports that Aldo responded by scribbling on McGregor’s homework have yet to be confirmed.
