ALAN JUDGE’S SEASON is over after he underwent surgery on a double leg break suffered last weekend.
The Ireland and Brentford midfielder was caught late by Ipswich Town’s Luke Hyam at Portman Road and tweeted a positive update from his hospital bed during the week.
Although the 27-year-old is set to miss out on Euro 2016 because of the injury, there was some good news for him this afternoon as the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year nominations were announced.
With 14 goals and 12 assists, Judge enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Bees before the setback and features on the three-man shortlist alongside Burnley forward Andre Gray, the league’s top scorer with 23 goals, and Fulham striker Ross McCormack, who has a tally of 21 goals.
The winner will be announced at The Football League awards on 17 April.

The real special one
@Jamie: When he has 4 he is special until then Judas is the special one !
@Jamie: Why not try and congratulate one of your own first Alan before you troll . Well done Chris Hughton !!
Yes, he has done well, but I think he can only truly be judged next year. The advantage of only playing once a week was incredible. With that, and not sustaining any major injuries, no team in the league made less changes to its starting 11 week in week out. So, luck definitely had its part to play.
@William Boland: still done amazing especially if they win FA cup. I think not playing Europe did help but clubs like Liverpool didn’t play in Europe and they didn’t treat
Threaten to win anything this season.. so massive credit to Conte..
Conte deserves the award for turning Chelsea around and making them into the formidable force, the real challenge starts next season, with champions league included
