Ireland's Alan Judge has 2 reasons to celebrate this month

The 26-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for Brentford of late.

IRELAND’S ALAN JUDGE has capped off a couple of weeks to remember by scooping the Championship Player of the Month award.

Judge either scored or assisted in all but one of Brentford’s matches this month, while the Bees’ manager — ex-Ireland international Lee Carsley — was named Manager of the Month, with the side winning four of their five matches since the beginning of October.

Having struggled in the early part of the season, with temporary boss Carsley recently becoming their third manager in recent months, the club now sit 12th in the Championship — five points off the play-off spots.

It brings to an end a memorable few weeks for Judge, who has been included in Ireland’s provisional squad to face Bosnia, while his wife also gave birth to a baby boy recently.

Of his excellent form, Judge told The42 last week: “I was a bit unsettled with all the changes at the start of the season… I played for Mark Warburton and he was great for me. I was just a bit unsure what was going to happen, but in the last two weeks, I’ve settled down really well and I’m focused and enjoying my football again.”
