ALAN BROGAN CROWNED his Dublin comeback with four points including a late leveller as Dublin came from behind to draw with Galway in an entertaining challenge.
Former Footballer of the Year Brogan only recently returned to the Dublin panel having not featured since their All-Ireland semi-final loss to Donegal.
He looked sharp and composed when in possession and switched between the half-forward and full-forward lines over the 70 minutes.
The 33-year old had an immediate impact with a point off his left foot inside the opening minute and one off his right soon after.
He added a third point early in the second-half before popping up for the 69th minute score that tied up the game.
Asked afterwards if Brogan could step up his involvement and feature at some stage in the Allianz league final next weekend, boss Jim Gavin replied that ‘all players are in the mix’.
Dublin fielded a largely experimental team and Philly Ryan showed up well as a sub, scoring 1-2. Local boy Harry Dawson shot five points while Kevin Nolan played at full-back for three quarters of the game.
Dublin were lucky to escape with a draw though. Galway led 1-7 to 0-9 at half-time thanks largely to 1-2 from Shane Walsh.
